            Akalabeth

written in 1979 and published in 1980

Ported to the CMM2 by Vegipete, Dec 2021

Title Image from the 1998 DOS port. Player manual might be from the PC port too.

Akalabeth is seen as the first game in the Ultima Series.

98 GOTOs in original Applesoft version
of which 9 are computed (ON {expr} GOTO linenum1,linenum2,...)
38 implied GOTOs (IF THEN [GOTO] linenum)
15 GOSUBs
All GOTOs and GOSUBs have been removed and replaced with structures MMBasic.

Notes on the port:
I have endeavoured to keep the CMM2 version as true to the original
as possible. I have taken a few liberties and added some colour (the
original was black and white) and changed a word here and there so
the text fits on screen better. Original trees were squares, I changed
them to green circles, I added grass to plains and changed dungeon
entrances to something more cave-like than just an X. The monsters are
true to the originals, although they have also been coloured.

Key commands have been changed from the original: (case doesn't matter)
Arrow Keys move North/South/East/West on the surface and
              Forward/Turn Around/Turn Right/Turn Left in dungeons,
X Enter town, castle or dungeon, climb ladder of climb down trap door
